Samsung has officially unveiled Android-smartphone Galaxy R, which serves as the basis of single-chip platform Tegra 2. Externally, the new model resembles Galaxy S II, has a metal back cover, thickness of 9.55 mm and weighs 131 g. For comparison, the flagship is made entirely of plastic, has a thickness of 8.49 mm and weighs 116.
The model is equipped with a screen diagonal of 4.19 inches and a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, made by technology Super Clear LCD. The composition of the said platform Tegra 2 has two core Cortex-A9 processor with a clock frequency of 1 GHz. In addition, the smartphone has 8GB of flash memory, slot for memory cards microSD, wireless adapters, Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 3.0 module and GPS.
In contrast to the frontal camera, the resolution of which is 1.3 megapixel camera on the back panel has a 5 megapixel resolution, LED flash and can record high-definition video format 720p. The unit runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).
Galaxy R smartphone is already on sale in Sweden and will soon get to the other countries in Europe and Asia.
