ARM and Canonical prepare a surprise in the market

Companies ARM and Canonical intend to make desktop OS Ubuntu accessible to systems in which processors with architecture ARMv7 are used. It is supposed that new OS will stimulate categories hybrid computers, having opened possibility of use of energetically effective single-crystal systems with architecture ARM which are characterised by high mobility and autonomy.

Partners are assured that OS Ubuntu optimised for ARM, and experience Canonical in adaptation of decisions to concrete conditions of application and requirements OEM will provide success to new products in the growing market of mobile computing systems. Company ARM expects to involve also the extensive communications with the largest manufacturers of semi-conductor production and ready devices.

New version Ubuntu Desktop will be optimised for decisions with architecture ARMv7, including systems on processors ARM Cortex-A8 and Cortex-A9. The official date of issue of OS Ubuntu intended for desktop systems with architecture ARM, names April, 2009.
